PeerPad

PeerPad was an experimental online text editor that enabled real-time collaborative editing without any central server, using Conflict-free Replicated Data Types (CRDTs) for automatic conflict resolution and IPFS for decentralized peer-to-peer data storage and synchronization. Because documents were replicated directly across connected peers rather than a hosted backend, PeerPad demonstrated how shared editing could function even without traditional cloud infrastructure. The project (originally hosted under the ipfs-shipyard organization) was a research-oriented showcase of P2P web technology rather than an actively maintained production tool.
