Piped

Piped is an open-source, privacy-respecting alternative frontend for YouTube, built to be lightweight and efficient by stripping away Google's tracking scripts, targeted ads, and invasive data collection while still serving the same video content. It supports SponsorBlock integration to automatically skip sponsored segments, works well on low-powered devices due to its minimal resource footprint, and can be accessed through public community-run instances or self-hosted for complete control. Piped has also spawned an ecosystem of companion projects, including LibreTube for Android and Hyperpipe for YouTube Music, all built around the same backend to extend private video and audio access across platforms.
