An open-source virtual canvas that brings remote teams back into the same room

PopSpace is an open-source virtual office and collaboration canvas built by With Labs (originally part of the Tilde project before splitting into PopSpace and PopStage in 2022) that lets distributed teams gather in persistent, customizable rooms for video chat, screen sharing, and casual collaboration. Rooms stay intact between sessions, so sticky notes, whiteboards, uploaded wallpapers, and embedded iframes remain exactly where participants left them, mimicking the feel of a physical office. Nearby-audio and multiplayer screen sharing recreate the sense of walking up to a colleague's desk, while WebRTC (via LiveKit or Twilio) keeps sessions encrypted end to end. Licensed under GPLv2, it can be self-hosted with Docker for teams wanting full control of their meeting infrastructure instead of relying on a third-party video vendor.
