VSCodium is a community-driven, freely-licensed binary distribution of Microsoft's editor VS Code. Microsoft’s official VS Code downloads are licensed under a not-FLOSS license and contain telemetry/tracking.

VSCodium takes the open-source base codebase of VS Code and compiles it cleanly, stripping out all Microsoft branding, telemetry, and data collection, offering developers the exact same powerful editing experience with absolute privacy.

Key Features

  • Zero telemetry and data tracking
  • Identical editing experience to VS Code
  • Compatible with VS Code extensions (via Open VSX)
  • Fully open-source MIT licensed binaries
