A Word-style word processor built in pure Rust

Upvote

WordCraft is an open-source word processor that keeps the Microsoft Word workflow: the ribbon, styles, tables, track changes and mail merge. It reads and writes .docx files and runs natively on macOS, Windows, Linux and BSD, and in the browser.

Highlights

  • Review tools: track changes, comment balloons, accept and reject, spelling and grammar as you type
  • References: tables of contents, footnotes, citations in APA, MLA, Chicago or IEEE, indexes and captions
  • Design tools: themes, style sets, watermarks, page colors and borders
  • Layout tools such as drop caps and text wrapping, with a dark mode
  • Support for AI agents

A built-in sample handbook shows the ribbon, style gallery, rulers and navigation pane at work.

Good to know: the ArtCraft name and logos are trademarks of the ArtCraft team and are not covered by the open-source license, so forks must remove them. The code itself is released under Apache-2.0.
