How PDF to Word DOCX Reconstruction Works

Unlike word processors, PDF files do not natively store paragraphs or headings—they store individual glyph strings positioned at fixed X/Y coordinates. Our converter parses each page's coordinate matrix using Mozilla PDF.js, clusters horizontally aligned glyphs into lines, calculates vertical line-spacing deltas to merge wrapped sentences into cohesive paragraphs, and identifies enlarged typography to assign native Word heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2) inside a valid OpenXML .docx package.
